Obituary

Alfred James Hollingsworth of Braman, Oklahoma, died Sunday evening, September 7, 2008, in the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas, at the age of 71 years.

Alfred James Hollingsworth, the youngest of nine children, was born on June 17, 1937, in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, to Jasper and Hedwig (Ottle) Hollingsworth. He grew up and attended school in Bucks County. Following his education he worked at various jobs including truck driver, mechanic and factory foreman. In the late 1960's he moved to Tonkawa, Oklahoma, to make his home before moving to Billings, Oklahoma. In 2003 he moved to Braman where he worked in maintenance for the Kanza Travel Plaza. He enjoyed motorcycles and mechanics.

He is survived by his companion on many years, Evelyn Nash of Braman, Oklahoma; two daughters, Edith Caimpaglia of Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, and Patricia Hollingsworth of Ponca City, Oklahoma; two sisters, Modena Fitch and Eileen Hollingsworth of Pennsylvania; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and thirty two foster children.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Alfred James Hollingsworth Jr.; two sisters; and four brothers.

Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 10th in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Cliff Johnson of The Tabernacle officiating.

A memorial has been established at the Kanza Travel Plaza at Braman in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home.
