Treva M. "Sue" Staples of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Thursday afternoon, December 27, 2012, in the Grace Living Center in Jenks, Oklahoma, at the age of 83 years.
Treva M. “Sue” Staples was born on January 22, 1929, in Altoona, Kansas. She was the daughter of Carl D. and Florence (Richmond) Anderson. She grew up in Dilworth, Oklahoma, attending Braman Public Schools and graduated Braman Highschool in 1946. Following her education she worked in a doctor’s office as receptionist and bookkeeper at Lyons, Kansas. On January 26, 1947, she married Clarence J. Staples in the parsonage of the First Church of God Church in Blackwell and they made their home in Blackwell. In 1956 they moved to Wichita, Kansas, where she worked the credit department of the Gem Store in Wichita, Kansas. In 1960 they moved back to Blackwell. From 1981 to 1990 she worked for her son’s truck lines. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, playing cards, camping, fishing, working in her yard, gardening and summer vacations in Colorado. She was a member of the First Church of God in Blackwell. In 2009 they moved to Jenks, Oklahoma, to make their home. On January 26, 2010, they celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. On February 1, 2010, Clarence preceded her in death and she continued to make Jenks her home.
She is survived by one daughter, Cheryl Keith and husband Dean of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one son, Gary Staples of Ponca City, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Kelly Keith Graham and husband Chris of Moore, Oklahoma, Kristin (Keith) Carter and husband Alton of Stillwater, Oklahoma, and Cole Keith of Tulsa, Oklahoma; six great grandchildren, Logan and Carson Dunn, Brett and Gracey Graham, Kelton and Colin Carter; and one brother, Richard Anderson and wife Susan of Pampa, Texas.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Carl D. Anderson Jr.
Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 31, 2012, at the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel, with James W. Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Chris Graham, Logan Dunn, Carson Dunn, Alton Carter, Kelton Carter, Colin Carter, and Cole Keith.
A memorial has been established in her memory with the Asbury United Methodist Church in Tulsa c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home.
